DAY 2
NIAGARA FALLS, ON
BREAKFAST
This morning after breakfast, we welcome you onboard our luxury motorcoach. Of course it is air-conditioned and washroom equipped for your comfort and enjoyment. We are treated to a locally guided city tour of Toronto. After lunch, we proceed along the Queen Elizabeth Highway to Niagara Falls, the "Honeymoon Capital of the World." Get ready for a thrilling excursion aboard the "Maid of the Mist." The rest of the day and evening is free to do as you please.
DAY 3
GANANOQUE, ON
BREAKFAST
After breakfast, we enjoy a brief tour of Niagara Falls. We see "Brock Monument", the "Floral Clock" and "Whirlpool Rapids". A short drive brings us to Niagara-on-the-Lake. Later our pleasant drive brings us to the City of Kingston to visit "Fort Henry" and "Bellevue House", home of the famous Sir John. A. Macdonald. We then drive to our overnight destination, Gananoque, ON.
DAY 4
MONTREAL, QUE
BREAKFAST
After breakfast this morning, we continue our drive along Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence Seaway to Montreal. Enjoy a scattered lunch and some time for browsing in "Old Montreal" before getting back on the coach for a locally guided tour of Montreal. We spend the night in Montreal.
DAY 5
BANGOR, ME
BREAKFAST
Enjoy breakfast this morning before we travel through the eastern townships known as the "Garden of Quebec" before turning south and crossing the U.S. border into Vermont. We stop at Maple Grove Farms just east of St. Johnsbury (subject to seasonal availability). Our further picturesque drive through the forested states of Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine brings us to the city of Bangor for the night.
DAY 6
SUSSEX, NB
BREAKFAST
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before we make our way back into Canada this morning. We visit St. Andrews-by-the-Sea to enjoy the view and visit the quaint little shops. After lunch, we travel along to Saint John, New Brunswick, the loyalist city, for a brief city tour. We continue on for a short drive to Sussex, NB where we will spend the night.
DAY 7
HALIFAX, NS
BREAKFAST
After breakfast, we drive along the spectacular Bay of Fundy and stop at the incredible Hopewell Cape where you have the opportunity to walk on the ocean floor! A further short drive brings us to Springhill, home of the Canadian singing star, Anne Murray. We visit the Anne Murray museum today. We spend two nights in Halifax.
DAY 8
HALIFAX, NS
BREAKFAST
Enjoy a hearty breakfast before we are treated to a locally guided tour of the naval city of Halifax this morning, including Titanic victims burial site, the story of Pier 21, and the devastating Halifax explosion. We enjoy lunch at the Halifax Historic Properties. Later our drive brings us to the rustic charm of the famous fishing village of Peggys Cove. The early evening is free for your personal enjoyment.
DAY 9
SYDNEY, NS
BREAKFAST
After breakfast at the hotel, we travel east, across the Strait of Canso into Cape Breton, the island of the hearty and independent Scots, who are the original settlers of this past island. Enjoy the most dramatic and scenic view of the cliffs and moors as we travel to Baddeck, for a visit to the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site where Mr. Bell conceived and tested some of his spectacular inventions! Then its into Sydney, NS for a two night stay. Ample free time for your personal fulfillment.
DAY 10
SCENIC CABOT TRAIL
BREAKFAST
After breakfast we get started for our adventure at Cabot Trail, named after the famous explorer who first sighted the island in 1497. Watch as we pass the meandering glens, rugged coastlines, white gypsum bluffs and the always pounding surf. We make some photo stops enroute to make this a very special day, indeed. We retire for the evening back in Sydney. Enjoy the most relaxing scenic adventure of the tour.
DAY 11
FORTRESS OF LOUISBOURG, NS
BREAKFAST
After breakfast, we travel to the Fortress of Louisbourg to view history as we take a tour of the famous 18th century Fortress! It is beautifully restored with inhabitants dressed in period costume, and it stands today as it was 200 years ago! We continue to New Glasgow for the night.
DAY 12
PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND & SUMMERSIDE, PEI
BREAKFAST, DINNER
After breakfast, we travel into Caribou, NS, where we take the ferry to Wood Islands, PEI. Our early arrival into Charlottetown gives us ample time for browsing, before we enjoy a locally guided tour of the Charlottetown area, including a guided tour of the Province House. We visit the Cheese factory on our way to see the Sand dunes at Cavendish beach. We end the day with our traditional Lobster Dinner in New Glasgow, PEI. Tonight we stay overnight in Summerside, PEI.
DAY 13
FREDERICTON, NB
BREAKFAST
After breakfast we visit the world famous Anne of Green Gables House. We stop at Gateway Village for coffee and browsing. Also we stop at the magnificent Confederation Bridge for pictures. Later we arrive in Moncton, where we experience the sensation and mystery of "Magnetic Hill". We then continue for a leisurely drive on to Fredericton, NB.
DAY 14
QUEBEC CITY, QUE
BREAKFAST
After breakfast, our morning drive brings us to the worlds longest covered Hartland Bridge. We visit St. Jean-Port-Joli where artist and artisans produce distinctive wood sculptures, hand weaving, hooked rugs and other crafts. We arrive to Old Quebec to view the narrow streets and quaint buildings of the "Old Town" the only walled city on the continent, other than Mexico. Quebec City will be our home for two nights.
DAY 15
QUEBEC CITY, QUE
BREAKFAST
After breakfast, get ready to learn more about our French Heritage. No visit to Quebec City would be complete without a visit to the Shrine at St. Anne de Beaupre. We then continue on to visit Cyclorama of Jerusalem. Stroll around the quaint "Old Quebec" for a scattered lunch and some souvenir shopping. At 2:00 p.m. we experience a locally guided city tour of Quebec City.
DAY 16
OTTAWA, ON
BREAKFAST, DINNER
After breakfast, we leisurely make our way into the Nations Capital City, Ottawa. We enjoy a scattered lunch and shopping in downtown Ottawa. The rest of the afternoon is free to do as you please. Perhaps take a stroll along the beautiful Rideau Canal, or shop for those last-minute souvenirs. Ottawa is our home for tonight. Join our Tour Director and fellow travelers this evening for a Pacific Gold Tours Good Time Farewell Dinner.
DAY 17
CITY TOUR & RETURN HOME
After breakfast, we enjoy a locally guided deluxe city tour of Ottawa, including a tour of the Parliament Buildings, the Prime Ministers residence, Rideau Hall and much more (subject to change). After a scattered lunch in Byward Market, we head down to Ottawa airport for our return flight home. All good things must come to an end! Today we say goodbye to our friends and fellow passengers as we carry our fond memories with us. (Please book your return flight home after 3:00 p.m.)
