DAY 1
HOME CITIES TO HALIFAX, NS

Fly in from home cities to the Halifax International Airport. Upon your arrival, leisurely transfer to our included pre tour hotel. A complimentary return airport transfer voucher is included in your tour documents. Enjoy a full service hotel, as the rest of the day is free to do as you wish.
DAY 2
HALIFAX, NS
We are welcomed on board our luxury coach this morning. Sit back, relax and enjoy the luxury of our modern motorcoach. Of course it is air-conditioned and washroom equipped, for your comfort and enjoyment. We are treated to a locally guided deluxe tour of the naval city of Halifax this morning, including Citadel National Historic Site, Titanic victims burial site, the story of Pier 21, etc. We have free time at Citadel Hill after the tour. We enjoy a scattered lunch at the Halifax Historic Properties. Later on, our leisurely drive brings us to the rustic charm of the famous fishing village of Peggy's Cove. We return to our hotel by 5:00 PM. Join your Tour Director and fellow passengers this evening for a Pacific Gold Tours Welcome Get Acquainted Dinner at the hotel.
DAY 3
FORTRESS OF LOUISBOURG, NS

Early rise and shine today as we leave Halifax, NS. We travel east, across the Strait of Canso into Cape Breton, the island of the hearty and independent Scots, who are the original settlers of this historic island. We arrive to the Fortress of Louisbourg to view history as we take a full tour of the famous 18th century Fortress. It is beautifully restored with inhabitants dressed in period costume, and it stands today as it was 200 years ago. We leave the fortress at 5:00PM and check into our hotel for two nights. The evening is free to relax or explore Sydney on our own.
DAY 4
SCENIC CABOT TRAIL
We get started for our adventure on Cabot Trail, named after the famous explorer who first sighted the island in 1497. Watch as we pass the meandering glens, rugged coastlines, white gypsum bluffs and the always-pounding surf. We make some photo stops enroute to make this a very special day, indeed. Enjoy the most relaxing and scenic adventure of the tour. We retire for the night back in Sydney. Enjoy your leisure time using the hotel facilities.
DAY 5
MARINE ATLANTIC FERRY TO NEWFOUNDLAND
We start on an early adventure as we board the Marine Atlantic Ferry at North Sydney, NS to Port Aux Basque, NF (subject to ferry time schedule). Sit back, relax and watch for marine life as we sail across the Cabot Strait. Our overnight stop is in the beautiful city of Corner Brook on Humber Fjord.
DAY 6
TWILLINGATE & LIGHTHOUSE
Today we travel east on the Trans Canada Highway, stopping at historic Twillingate. We visit the museum and the Long Point Lighthouse. Our leisurely journey continues to Gander, known as the "crossroads of the world" due to itıs refueling base for transatlantic air traffic, which will be our home for tonight. Tonight we enjoy a "screech-in" party, the traditional Newfoundland welcome.
DAY 7
ST. JOHNS, NF
2 nights
We head south to the Avalon Peninsula. Sit back and relax as we drive through Heartıs Delight and Heart's Desire to the small town of Heartıs Content. We visit the old cable relay station, where the first transatlantic cable was landed in 1866. We have a short stop in Harbour Grace, an old pirate town, where Amelia Earheart took off in 1932 for her pioneering solo flight across the Atlantic Ocean. We continue our wonderfully scenic drive through Conception Bay to St. Johnıs, NF, where we stay for the next two nights.
DAY 8
ST. JOHNS, NF SIGHTSEEING
This morning we enjoy a locally guided city tour of St. John's, which introduces us to Cabot Tower, Signal Hill, the Historic Church, Confederation Building and City Hall. This afternoon weıll visit Cape Spear, the most easterly point in North America, beautiful Petty Harbour and the historic waterfront. Enjoy an evening on your own to explore St. John's lively downtown and Water Street!
DAY 9
GRAND FALLS, NF
We enjoy a scenic drive through Newfoundland this morning. Watch for moose as we continue through Terra Nova National Park. We stop at the Terra Nova Park Visitor Centre for a brief visit before we continue through to Grand Falls, NF, known for being one of the major suppliers of newsprint for world centres.
DAY 10
PLUM POINT, NF
2 nights
Enjoy a relaxing journey on Trans Canada Highway as we drive through Western Newfoundland towards Rocky Harbour and Plum Point. As we drive along, watch as the pristine mountains and lakes meld into an eye-catching delight! Nestled along the coast of the Gulf of St. Lawrence is our stop for the next two nights, Plum Point, NF.
DAY 11
VIKING TRAIL, NF
Today we go far back in history as we travel to L'Anse Aux Meadows National Historic Park, the first authenticated Norse site in North America. Archeologists have uncovered artifacts that indicate a Norse settlement was in this area about 1000 AD. It is believed that Leif the Lucky settled in this Viking Village in 1000AD. UNESCO has declared the site a World Heritage site. We'll tour the sod-house displays on the Norse way of life. Next we visit St. Anthony, home of the Grenfell Mission where weıll see the Grenfell House and browse the unique craft centre. We retrace our steps back down the Viking Trail to Plum Point.
DAY 12
CORNER BROOK NF
Today enjoy a spectacular drive back down the Viking Trail. Our first stop today is at the National Historic Park at Port Au Choix and the museum, which features the Maritime Archaic Indian History. There are many interesting artifacts on display, which make this a most intriguing site. Next, we journey to the natural phenomenon of The Arches. These arches have been carved over many centuries by the sea. Our further drive "off the beaten track" brings us into the wonderful Gros Morne National Park, a designated world Heritage site. We stop at the Rocky Harbour and parkıs visitor centre. We are amazed by the spectacular scenery of Gros Morne Park. We stop at the Park's interpretation Centre for their fascinating film about Gros Morne. We also visit the lighthouse at Lobster Cove Head. Visiting the park allows us to view the vertical cliffs, deep fjords, the Gulf of St. Lawrence and the Long Range Mountains. Finally, we make our way into Corner Brook, NF for overnight stay.
DAY 13
MARINE ATLANTIC FERRY TO SYDNEY, NS
We take a scenic drive to Port-aux-Basques to board the Marine Atlantic Ferry for our crossing over the Cabot Strait (subject to ferry sailing time schedule). Keep a look out for the marine life that can be viewed from onboard the ferry. The scenery is so spectacular it will take your breath away. We arrive to our hotel in Sydney for the night.
DAY 14
PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND & SUMMERSIDE
2 nights
Today we bid farewell to the sights and sounds of Cape Breton as we travel to Baddeck, for a visit to the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site where Mr. Bell conceived and tested some of his spectacular inventions! We are amazed by the beauty and scenery of the majestic Bras d'Or Lakes during our drive. Our further journey brings us to Caribou, NS. We board the relaxing ferry this afternoon and arrive to Woods Island, PEI. Our further drive brings us to Summerside, PEI, for a two-night stay.
DAY 15
CHARLOTTETOWN & SUMMERSIDE
Prepare for a full day of adventure, sightseeing and fun as we are treated to a locally guided deluxe tour of the Charlottetown and Summerside area. We visit the Cheese factory on our way to Charlottetown. We tour the Province House, churches, Victorian homes, the Confederation Centre and more. After lunch, we stop at the Prince Edward Island Preserve Company on our way to Anne of Green Gables Home and the sand dunes at Cavendish Beach. We end the day with our traditional Lobster Dinner in New Glasgow, PEI.
DAY 16
SAINT JOHN, NB
This morning we say goodbye to Prince Edward Island! We stop at Gateway Village and the magnificent Confederation Bridge for pictures. Later we arrive in Moncton, where we experience the sensation and mystery of "Magnetic Hill." We continue to Saint John, NB. This afternoon we are treated to a locally guided brief city tour of "The Loyalist City," which includes stops at Reversing Falls, Saint John Harbour and Market Square.
DAY 17
HALIFAX, NS
Today we drive along the spectacular Bay of Fundy and stop at the incredible Hopewell Cape where we have the opportunity to walk on the ocean floor at low tide! A further short drive brings us to Springhill, home of the Canadian singing star, Anne Murray. We visit the Anne Murray museum this afternoon. Our further leisurely drive brings us to Halifax where we spend the night. Join our Tour Director and fellow travelers for a Pacific Gold "Good Times" Farewell Dinner.
DAY 18
HALIFAX, NS TO HOME
All good things must come to an end! Today we say good-bye to our new-found friends and take with us our memories of a wonderful 'Jewels of the Maritimes' tour as we travel to the airport for our return flight home.
