Imagine a place that knows nothing of the word compromise, a place that strikes the elusive balance between modern luxuries and the kind of richness only the natural world affords, a place where travelers can return to life's source in the heart of nature along British Columbia's rugged West Coast.

With it's world-class salmon fishing as well as freshwater fishing, casual yet elegant atmosphere, and first-class facilities, Sonora Resort & Conference Centre offers a perfect setting to mix business with pleasure or simply to cleanse the spirit and recapture life's simpler delights.

Fishing presents just one way to enjoy Sonora's wilderness splendor. Guests find dozens of ways to get out into the untouched beauty of coastal British Columbia. With grizzly bears and bald eagles as their only neighbors, they discover Sonora Island's flora and fauna on foot through mountain hikes, take wing for the aerial thrill of helicopter glacier excursions, cruise by Zodiac in search of the orca whales and dolphins that travel the local waters, or savor a more intimate view of the coastline with ocean kayak tours. At Sonora, the possibilities for outdoor adventure seem as limitless as the blue sky above.

After the excitement of fishing and exploring, guests can take refuge and unwind in one of the resort's many Jacuzzis, pools, or steam rooms. They can test their skills in a fully equipped game room, challenge a new friend to a tennis match on an outdoor court, or wind down with a soothing massage.

The resort offers a variety of comfortable, well-appointed accommodations designed to make guests feel truly at home. Each of the six lodges features its own unique theme and spectacular view of the mesmerizing Yuculta ocean rapids. Highly personalized service complements a casual atmosphere where no request, need, or whim goes unanswered.

To further enrich guests' stays, the resort orchestrates a host of culinary experiences, everything from gourmet picnic lunches for days of adventure to evening feasts on the catch of the day. Sonora's chefs specialize in the best of West Coast cuisine: fresh local seafood, home-baked breads, and a wide assortment of carefully crafted treats – all accompanied by a distinguished wine list and selection of fine ports and brandies.

Guests report that a journey to Sonora is not merely a pleasant getaway. It is an experience that becomes an intrinsic part of you, changing forever your perceptions of the world and creating an indelible imprint of memories that last a lifetime.
