Konig adds that the Club embraces enthusiasts with offerings including a wine tasting and workshop, educational tour of Tinhorn Creek, scenic tour of neighbouring wineries, a host of leisue activities and a year-round selection of premium wines delivered to each members' door. "The WineLovers' Club has been created as a learning opportunity for enthusiasts with interest in the intricacies of wine and how it's produced," notes Sandra Oldfield, Tinhorn Creek Vineyard's winemaker. "It's an educational experience that also proves to be a lot of fun."
The experience starts with a three-to-four night stay at Tinhorn Creek's self-catering guest suites, nestled in the lush vineyards of the Okanagan Valley. The beauty of the landscape is sure to inspire as guests enjoy a bottle of TInhorn Creek wine, delivered to their suite each day. Indulging in each, the wine is sure to whet the palate for the tours and workshops that lie ahead. Enlightenment awaits as a member of the Tinhorn Creek winemaker/cellar team leads a personalized vineyard and winery tour, highlighting climatic conditions, grape growing and harvesting, winemaking techniques, fermentation and aging - all key to producing successful, award-winning wine. The tour finishes with guests sampling offerings directly from the winery's barrels. Then it's time to put knowledge into practice. The Wine and Food Workshop allows guests to discover the most appropriate wines to serve with an array of menu offerings. Eight dishes are served, with guests learning to match the most suitable Tinhorn Creek wines with each. A comprhensive wine tasting further adds to each guest's understanding.
The WInelovers' club experience won't end there. following their stay at the vineyard, members will receive a Cellar Starter of Tinhorn Creek's prized wines. Members will also recieve quarterly shipments of wine during the year, capped by a release of next year's Tinhorn Creek Merlot from the popular Futures Program. Participants will enjoy even more perks as the year progresses, including member newsletters from Oldfield, offering suggestions and insight as to the ideal time to indulge in their Tinhorn Creek selections. In addition, participants will receive exclusive Web site access and discounts as well as promotions available only to Club members.
